André Hazes no longer has contact with his mother Rachel or sister Roxeanne, he says at the table on talk show Jinek on Thursday evening. About the broken contact with Roxeanne, the artist says: “That’s something between us. She no longer needs it.”
“We will all have our reasons, but I think we all find it annoying that things are going this way. I hope that one day it will be good. When my father died, we promised that,” says André, who went to in his own words appears sober on television for the first time. The singer has been working on his alcohol and drug addiction for some time, which he says has affected his ex-partner Monique Westenberg the most. She tried for years to raise the alarm. André: “I didn’t see the problem myself.”
André now says he finds his family “a bit sad”. As an example, he mentions the court case that will soon take place between his mother Rachel and sister Roxeanne. “It is really very painful when I see such a lawsuit,” said the singer.
Rachel and Roxeanne are currently involved in a lawsuit about the inheritance of the deceased André Hazes Sr. The 28-year-old Hazes emphasizes that he is outside the case between his mother and sister. “We never get used to it being like this in our family. We just can’t act normal. It’s very painful and sad.”
Patterns are broken in the Hazes family
According to him, André and his older sister Roxeanne Hazes do break through the patterns they used to inherit from home. For André, this is partly due to the help he has enlisted. “What we’ve had to see and hear, that we were never allowed to talk about. Those things just pile up.” It remains unclear exactly which patterns André is referring to.
The singer indicates that he never wants to talk badly about his parents. “My mother in particular has done her best. But now that I am a father myself, I think: ‘Jesus mom, you have missed a lot of stitches.'”
André will soon make his comeback at music event Holland sings Hazes. Roxeanne has chosen to be absent. André says he has a lot of respect for that.
