‘Ministers are not allowed to delete chats’
All work-related chat messages from ministers, secretaries of state, administrators and senior officials must be saved. This is the advice of the Advisory Board on Public Access and Information Management (ACOI). Everyone should be able to check what considerations the government makes and it is important for historiography, the advice states.
The advisory body was set up in response to the parliamentary debate in May last year about Prime Minister Rutte, who deleted text messages from his mobile phone on a large scale. He should never have done that, the Government Information and Heritage Inspectorate already concluded in October.
What about the government’s information management? ACOI Chairman Ineke van Gent is a guest.
What made Ardern so popular?
Jacinda Ardern will step down as Prime Minister of New Zealand next month. In his own words, the leader of the Social Democrats no longer has enough energy to lead the country.
Ardern was the world’s youngest female head of government when she was elected prime minister nearly six years ago at the age of 37. She was internationally acclaimed for her empathy, empathy and eloquence. But: in her own country she also received considerable criticism. Recently, her popularity has already declined somewhat. Was her status in the rest of the world just an image?
