Strikes in the Spanish health are prolonged.
Collapsed emergency rooms, insufficient consultation time and poor working conditions are some of the elements that doctors in Spain denounce, especially due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and flu cases.
The community of Madrid has been on strike for a week to denounce the lack of family doctors and pediatricians and has called an indefinite strike until an agreement is reached.
Several unions such as Amyts, which represents Madrid doctors, have already entered into talks with the Ministry of Health, to no avail. They say the situation is untenable.
The indefinite strike has spread to other communities, including Andalusia and the Valencian Community.
While the tension in the Spanish health sector increases, the Ministry of Health leaves the matter in the hands of the autonomous governments.
