While Creel and Téllez revealed their interest in competing in the presidential elections months ago, Vila made public his aspiration to the presidency on January 17. After Mako Cortés, president of the PAN, pointed it out as a “strong card”, the governor finally spoke of his intention to compete against the Morena candidate.

On the other hand, in the State of Mexico it is Defina Gómez, from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) and Alejandra del Moral, from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who lead the voting intention.
According to TREsearch, Gómez leads with 42.1%, followed by del Moral who has 25.6%. Both women are pre-candidates of the political parties to which they belong.
In the case of Alejandra del Moral, she registered as a candidate for the Va por México coalition, made up of PAN, PRI and the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD).
