The head of Government of the CDMX, Claudia Sheinbaum stressed her position regarding the femicide of Ariadna Fernanda (Special)
The head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, assured that the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) confirmed what she had said before, that is, that Ariadna Fernanda López Díaz was a victim of femicide and that the prosecutor of Morelos, Uriel Carmona Gándara, was covering up the truth.
Ariadna López case: FGR sided with the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office on the cause of death
“It is not possible to support the cause of death issued by the Morelos State Attorney General’s Office,” said the institution in charge of carrying out the expert reports.
On the afternoon of Monday, January 16, the agency released information on those possibly responsible for the disappearance and cause of death of Ariadna, who was found lifeless on the La Pera-Cuautla highway, Morelos, in November of last year.
After the information given by the Prosecutor’s Office, the capital’s president gave a statement accusing the cover-up of the Morelos prosecutor and recognized the work of the institution in working for justice for the victims.
“Today the Attorney General of the Republic confirms what I said from the beginning. Ariadna was a victim of femicide and the Morelos prosecutor covered up the truth and lied.”

This occurs months after the Morelos State Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the cause of death of Ariadna Fernanda had been due to ethylic bronchial aspiration, in addition to the fact that the body allegedly had no marks of violence, ruling out that it was a femicide.
However, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the young woman died from a blow to the head, indicating a possible femicide, a version that was now supported by the FGR upon reviewing the information from both local agencies.

Based on the results offered after the first investigations, on November 7, Sheinbaum Pardo pointed out that the femicide of Ariadna Fernanda was being covered up by Uriel Carmona Gándara, a Morelos prosecutor.

In this regard, the FGR reported that: “The expert opinion issued by the authorities of Mexico City adheres to the due expert procedure; and it is not possible to support the cause of death issued by the Morelos State Attorney General’s Office.”
To reach this conclusion, the agents analyzed photographs, reviewed necropsy protocols, psychopathological studies, direct sources of information, surveillance videos, medical certifications, action protocols, and technical opinions.
“The pathological study of the corpse ratifies the cause of death, as head trauma, as well as corroborates the expert analysis of the chronology of the events and the evidence that confirms the time of said death,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.

The FGR said that since the feminicide occurred in the capital, the criminal proceedings must continue under the local jurisdiction, although they will be the ones who will exercise their power of attraction that corresponds to them by law and defense of human rights, to continue with the investigations corresponding to the case.
The young woman’s body was found lifeless by a group of cyclists on October 31, 2022 in Morelos. The alleged femicide, Rautel “N”, turned himself in to the Nuevo León authorities after being pointed out by the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
The subject claimed to be innocent, however, days later videos from the security cameras of his home came to light where he was seen carrying Ariadna’s inert body and putting it in his car. His girlfriend Vanessa “N”, who was a friend of the victim, was also arrested for the case.
