FC Eindhoven easily dealt with FC Den Bosch on Monday: 4-1. Thanks to the victory, coach Rob Penders’ team regains third place in the Kitchen Champion Division. FC Dordrecht defeated Jong FC Utrecht, while Jong AZ had little trouble with TOP Oss.
FC Eindhoven started strongly in the Jan Louwers Stadium and was leading 2-0 halfway through the first half. Evan Rottier knocked Den Bosch goalkeeper Wouter van der Steen into the long corner and moments later Naoufal Bannis took advantage of the bad way of getting rid of Den Bosch’s defense.
The visitors did something back through Ryan Leijten, but after the break Charles-Andreas Brym headed the 3-1 against the ropes after preparatory work by Brian De Keersmaecker. Deep in injury time, Lamine Diaby-Fadiga provided the final chord in the Brabant derby.
FC Eindhoven passed MVV and Almere City and has 36 points after twenty matches. Leader PEC Zwolle and number two Heracles Almelo have 44 points. Den Bosch suffered the fifth league defeat in a row and is sixteenth.

Young AZ wins rematch
Den Bosch is passed in the rankings by FC Dordrecht, which won 0-1 against last-placed Jong FC Utrecht. Aliou Baldé already made the difference after four minutes by surprising goalkeeper Calvin Raatsie in the short corner.
Mid-engine Young AZ won 1-3 at low-flyer TOP Oss. Mexx Meerdink missed a penalty in the initial phase, but scored on behalf of the Alkmaarders just before time. Fedde De Jong and Sem Dekkers were the other goalscorers at Jong AZ. Jearl Margaritha saved the honor for the home team with a nice individual action.
The match between TOP Oss and Jong AZ was also played in November (2-1), but that match was later declared invalid. Toshio Lake played with TOP Oss while he was suspended, so the game had to be played again.
The match between Jong PSV and VVV-Venlo was canceled on Monday. Due to the heavy rainfall in recent days, the field of sports complex De Herdgang in Eindhoven was unplayable. A new date for the game has not yet been announced.
