Tribute to Martin Luther King. Descendants of the civil rights icon have gathered to unveil this massive statue in his name. He is in Boston, where he first met his wife, Coretta Scott King.
In the early 1950s, Luther King was a doctoral student in theology at Boston University and she was a student at the New England Conservatory of Music.
The $10 million sculpture called “The Embrace” consists of four interlocked arms and is inspired by a photo of the couple embracing when Luther King learned he had won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
