In pictures: Miraculously, no one died in the accident of a truck against a house in the southeast of Bogotá

A spectacular traffic accident occurred on the night of Wednesday, January 11, in the town of San Cristóbal, in the southeast of Bogotá, where a truck, with apparent mechanical failures, ended up crashing into a house in the San Martín de Loba neighborhood.

The sleep of the residents of this sector was interrupted by the loud roar they heard when the large vehicle ran amok down one of the sector’s slopes and on its way rammed some vehicles until it crashed into the affected house.

“He ran out of brakes. There is one person injured and eight vehicles impacted, the authorities are present at the scene,” they reported from the Veeduría Ciudadana Twitter account (@Veedorciudad21), where they also attached a video of the shocking crash.

On the Blu Radio station, they detailed that the accident occurred exactly on 41 South Street with Carrera 1ª Este where the vehicle, which was loaded with construction material, descended at high speed for about six blocks until the house stopped its journey.

However, despite the seriousness of the accident, miraculously there are no reports of deaths, only one injured person, apparently with a broken leg, after members of the Official Fire Department arrived at the scene and extracted the driver from the truck, which was trapped in the car, reported on the radio.

This is the second time, in less than a month, that a serious vehicular accident has been reported in this Bogota town, after the one that occurred on the morning of December 18, 2022, which left seven people injured and involved a truck, a taxi and even a Transmilenio feeder, they indicated at the time in the Citynoticias television newscast.

On the Twitter account Veeduría Ciudadana (@Veedorciudad21) they published a video of the anguish experienced by the residents of the San Martín neighborhood, in the southeast of Bogotá, after the vehicle ran off one of the sector’s slopes and crashed into a house.

The accident occurred in the 20 de Julio neighborhood when the private vehicle rammed the other public service vehicles. According to the testimonies of some residents of the area, people who were in a state of drunkenness were in the truck.
