“Nature as a strategic ally, not as an enemy to be defeated”

“We are living in a time of multiple crises, of growing geopolitical tensions (…) These are difficult times. But in these difficult times, humanity knows how to find the strength to overcome these challenges (…) We are going to prove once again that it is possible to generate more wealth without causing climate change. We will achieve this by responsibly exploring the extraordinary biodiversity of the Amazon to produce medicines and cosmetics, among other things. We will prove that it is possible to stimulate economic growth and social inclusion by having nature as a strategic ally, and not as an enemy to be beaten down with tractors and chainsaws.
