Suzanne Valadon, uncompromising pioneer

She was an acrobat, model and then painter. Honored by Lautrec then Degas, Suzanne Valadon is finally entitled to a museum retrospective (the last in France dates back to 1967). Through more than 200 works, the Center Pompidou-Metz will bring to light his portraits and his nudes surrounded by black, with an uncompromising realism, contrary to the clichés conveyed by his male colleagues.
