From the deployment of security that the Secretary of National Defense has (Sedena) and the National Guard (GN) in the area of San José de Gracia, Michoacán, and its borders with Jalisco, have been detained to date and made available to the Federal Public Ministry, 85 people considered as “generators of violence”.
This was announced this morning by the Undersecretary of Security, Ricardo Mejía Berdeja, during the Zero Impunity report presented this Thursday during the “Morning” press conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
According to the report, such people have been detained since April 21. in the regions of Tizapán el Alto, La Manzanilla de la Paz and Santa María del Oro, in the case of Jalisco, as well as in San José de Gracia, in Michoacán, without specifying how many arrests have been made in each state.
The most recent case in Jalisco was the arrest of seven people in the last week in Tizapán El Alto, who were found five long weapons, two short, 17 chargers, 448 useful cartridges, a bulletproof vest and two vehicles.
Five others were detained in Marcos Castellanos, Michoacán, from whom nine long weapons, one short, 36 chargers, 1,356 cartridges and a vehicle were seized. Five alleged attackers also died in the arrest.
The persons, among whom there is at least one woman, belong to the New Generation Poster and the criminal group called “Pájaros Sierra”. All have already been linked to the process. During the arrests, Mejía Berdeja concluded, they have managed to seize long weapons, chargers, cartridges, tactical vests, drugs and vehicles.
The foregoing is part of the results obtained from the operations mounted by the Sedena and the National Guard after the massacre that occurred in the municipality of San José de Gracia, Michoacanwhen armed criminals broke into a wake and murdered between 10 and 17 people, with no knowledge of the whereabouts of the bodies to date.
