At least one person has died this Wednesday from the impact of a Russian missile on a residential building in Zaporizhia. The attacks come just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that kyiv had recaptured three more urban centers in its rapid advance.
The governor of the region, Oleksand Starukh, explained the attack thus: “At night, when people were sleeping, the enemy carried out a rocket attack on residential houses. The upper floors are destroyed, the entrances to the building are ruined. There were people under the rubble. Rescue teams were dispatched immediately. Our doctors did everything possible to minimize fatalities. The enemy is terrorizing a peaceful population. We will resist and we will win. Everything will be Ukraine.”
Seven rockets hit the center of Zaporizhia. This is a new attack against civilians after Vladimir Putin illegally annexed four Ukrainian territories to Russia. The Zaporizhia region, whose homonymous capital has already been recovered by kyiv, is one of them.
