CD Projekt Red has revealed the codenames of five new games. This includes three Witcher games, a new Cyberpunk and a brand new IP.
Through Twitter the projects were unveiled. In a standalone message the company said it is also working on “the addition of multiplayer to many of its future projects.” This is also the first time we’ve officially heard of a Witcher game that isn’t part of the new Witcher trilogy.
CD Projekt Red is working on the following five games:
Orion – “The codename for our next Cyberpunk game. It will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and show the potential of a dark future. Orion is being developed in the new US studio.”
Polaris – “The codename for the next The Witcher games. These are currently in pre-production and the beginning of a new saga. Two more Witcher games are coming out after Polaris, making it a new AAA RPG trilogy. The full trilogy should be released in a span of six years.”
Canis Majoris – “A full Witcher game. This is separate from the series that starts with Polaris. Development is done by a third-party studio with developers who have previously worked on Witcher games.”
Sirius – “The code name for a game being developed by [The Molasses Flood] and is set in the universe of The Witcher. The game is made with support from CDPR. It will be a departure from our previous productions and will feature multiplayer alongside a single player experience.”
hadar – “Code name for a third, new IP. It will be created from scratch within CDPR. The project is in the very early stages of the creative process. That means the game is not yet in development. Work is now underway on the foundation of the setting.”
