After the annulment of the last election for the municipal presidency, due to the resignation of all the candidates except for Morena, the municipality of Jilotlán de los Dolores it does not have an elected City Council because an extraordinary election has not been called.
Deputy Ángela Gómez Ponce, president of the Governance Commission, which is responsible for drawing up the legislative agreement to carry out an extraordinary electoral process, argued that she has not been able to proceed because the State Government has not presented a requested report, on several occasions, where it guarantees that the necessary security conditions exist to carry out the process.
“We have made requests for security reports on the municipality and so far they have not sent it to us so that we can work on the matter of an extraordinary election,” he said.
The Morenista legislator maintained that, despite not having an elected City Councilthe municipal administration and services operate normally and without affecting the inhabitants.
He warned that the Municipal Council appointed by the Legislative Power could continue to lead the administration of the city council for the remainder of the triennium; but He did not rule out that the extraordinary election could be called if the state authority guarantees security.
“The Council can remain for three years or, depending on the security conditions in the municipality, an election can be called. It is appropriate, even if authorities are elected for a year or half a year; but we need the security conditions to improve, ”he specified.
He added that the Council has complied with the presentation of income laws, cadastral tables and the follow-up of audits.
