The chancellor Marcelo Ebrard seek a dialogue with the governments of Russia and Ukraine on the peace plan between the two countries that will be presented at the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
The chancellor comes on behalf of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who proposed this peace proposal that received criticism including an adviser to the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) reported that the official is already in New York to participate in these sessions, as well as to lobby the foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine in the next two days.
Accompanied by Juan Ramón de la Fuente, permanent representative of Mexico in the HIMForeign Minister Ebrard attended a working breakfast with his counterparts from the MIKTA group, made up of Mexico, Indonesia, Korea, Turkey and Australia.
The foreign ministers of these countries held a dialogue on issues such as the effects of the war in Ukraine on international peace and economy, as well as issues for the promotion of development.
