What has been called the “special military operation” has already been part of the lessons in schools in Russia. According to these lessons, the operation in Ukraine is necessary, and the Russian economy is only strengthened by Western sanctions.
Now as a new tradition It is mandatory to raise the flag every week.
“This year, the Russian flag-raising ceremony will take place for the first time during the school assembly. I think it will be a good tradition that everyone will like. We will raise the state flag every week,” says Yelena Demyanova, deputy director of labor education at Nakhabino School No. 3.
The leader of the Russian Communist Party, Gennadi Ziugánov, supports these new implementations, for which he was present at the raising of the flag in one of the schools. “I think the tradition of raising the flag has survived through the ages, and it’s great that it’s being reborn in our schools,” he said.
Lessons from recent Russian history
Patriotic lessons will be given every Monday. The topics for each class will remain published on the official website of the Ministry of Education, where there is also a new version of the subject “Introduction to the recent history of Russia”.
In some grades, they will talk about what they have called the “heroes of the special operation”. Opponents of the innovation have already called it “the lessons of propaganda.”
President Vladimir Putin praised the Russian flag as a symbol of a country determined to defend its interests and stay true to traditional values.
