At least 23 people died and 36 were injured This Wednesday in a bus accident east of the Moroccan city of Casablanca, the kingdom’s health authorities reported.
The vehicle overturned at a curve on a country road in Khouribga provincespecified the source, which does not report any foreign tourist among the victims.
The bus went from Casablanca to the rural region of Ait Aatab, near the city of Meni Belal, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
The latest balance is 23 passengers dead and 36 injured, said doctor Roshdi Kaddar, regional director of health services.
This accident is the deadliest in recent years in Morocco, a country known for the danger of its routes.
According to the National Road Safety Agency, some 3,500 people die each year and 12,000 are injured in road accidents in Morocco.
