California police officers rushed to a zoo after receiving a 911 call, only to find that who scored was a mischievous monkey.
“Then everyone realized… it must have been Route, the capuchin monkey”
The operators sent the officers to investigate a possible emergency after receiving a call Saturday night that was later dropped.
San Luis Obispo County Agents they traced the call back to the offices of Zoo to Youa reserve 320 kilometers from Los Angeles.
Finding no humans at risk, they began to investigate the mysterious call.
“Then it dawned on everyone…it must have been Route the capuchin monkey,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
“Apparently Route took the zoo’s cell phone that was in a golf cart used to get around the zoo.”
the capuchins they are particularly curious creatures, enjoying poking and pressing objects they pick up.
“And that’s what Route did… and he just happened to dial the right combination of numbers to call us“, explained the office.
