Afores register capital gains in July
After a complicated half year due to the high volatility of the markets caused by the inflation environment and the increasingly restrictive monetary policy by the central banks, the ten Afore operating in the country recorded capital gains of 127 thousand 309 million pesos.
The president of the National Commission of the Retirement Savings System (Consar), Iván Pliego, said that there is confidence that the rest of the year will be positive for workers’ savingsdespite the losses that occur in several months, the balance is capital gains for workers and the entire system.
“The nature of the investments is variable, so we understand perfectly that due to the difficult post-pandemic and conflict context in Europe that there have been losses, but we insist that the losses are not losses unless a transfer is made or the resource is withdrawn. That is why we must be clear and confident that the investment regime is designed to take care of the workers’ resources,” said the official.
