The Guyanese swimmer won the final of the 50 meters backstroke on Sunday. Marie Wattel largely dominated her semi-final.

At 21, Analia Pigrée won her first international title by dominating the competition in the 50-meter backstroke at the 2022 European Swimming Championships in Rome (Italy), Sunday August 14. For the occasion, the Guyanese swimmer improved her own French record with a time of 27”27. She won ahead of the Italian Silvia Scalia (27”53) and the Dutch Maaike De Waard (27”54).
The other medal of the day for the Blues comes from artistic swimming. For the first time in the history of the discipline, men are competing in individual events. In free solo, Frenchman Quentin Rakotomalala won the bronze medal with a total of 78 points. The Italian Giorgio Minisini was crowned during this first edition with a score of 83.47 points.
On the other hand, despite a good start to the race, Charlotte Bonnet broke down in the last part of the 200 free meters. The Frenchwoman finished 7th, far from the Dutch Marrit Steenbergen.
Among the other Tricolores scheduled for Sunday, Marie Wattel largely dominated her semi-final of the 100 butterfly meters. She will participate in the final on Monday.
