The University of Guadalajara (UdeG) reported that there are still 1,127 vacancies available in different university centers of the house of studies.
At a press conference to publicize the admission decisions corresponding to the 2022-B calendar of the Higher Secondary and Higher Education levels, the UdeG clarified that these vacancies are available in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and in regional centers.
The careers with the highest demand for this calendar were: surgeon and midwife, psychology, lawyer, nursing, dentistry, international business, public accounting, veterinary, administration, architecture, computing, nutrition and biologist pharmaceutical engineer.
The careers with the least demand are: Photonics Engineering, Bachelor of Humanities, Bachelor of Music with a Performer orientation, Teleinformatics Engineering, Bachelor of Material Sciences, Electronic Instrumentation Engineering, Bachelor of Natural Resources Engineering, Bachelor of Music with a Path to composition, bachelor’s degree in molecular design and bachelor’s degree in digital journalism.
Laura Margarita Puebla Pérez, general coordinator of School Control, explained that this year 18,831 students out of a total of 51,602 applicants were admitted to the undergraduate system, which represented 36.49 percent of demand absorption.
“Yes, there is a growing request in the main 13 races and in general terms there was greater demand,” he explained.
Diana Gómez Guerrero, director of procedures and school control of the Higher Secondary Education System, explained that for the third consecutive year the UdeG high schools had a place for almost all applicants.
He explained that this year there were 68 thousand 861 applicants, of which a total of 60 thousand 784 were admitted, 39 thousand 341 for calendar B and 21 thousand 443 for calendar A, which represented 88.27 percent of the admitted applicants.
“This year the demand increased by 18 percent compared to the previous year, in part because the admission exam was resumed and because the SEP made the decision not to fail any student,” he explained.
