Derived from a road mishap in Mexico City, a capital policeman lost his life and three other elements were injured in Tlalpan, after they were carrying out work during the “Safe Passage” operation.
The elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) were run over by a private vehicle at the height of the General Anaya metro station on Line 2, in the Churubusco Country Club neighborhood of the Coyoacán mayor’s office.
The events were recorded after 6:00 in the morning on Thursday, August 11. The SSC reported that the person driving the vehicle was a woman, who was arrested at the scene, while the co-pilot took control of the unit and tried to flee.
However, it was followed up through video surveillance cameras and the car involved in the mishap was located in a state of abandonment on Calle Rafael Oliva del 47.

Meanwhile, the injured troops were treated by paramedics from the Rescue Squad and Medical Emergencies (ERUM). One of them was reported with a dislocated left arm, another with a femur injury and yet another was diagnosed with a hip fracture, for which they were transferred to hospitals in the area to receive specialized care.
In this regard, the Road Orientation Center of the SSC reported on the effects on traffic on the Tlalpan road and as an alternative it was recommended to take Division del Norte Avenue and Canal Miramontes.
Later, at 7:32 a.m., it was announced that circulation in that area had been reestablished, after the work carried out by the emergency services. Meanwhile, experts from the capital prosecutor’s office proceeded to remove the body of the deceased capital policeman.
Regarding the detained woman and the insured vehicle, they were made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent to determine their legal status. For its part, the SSC expressed its condolences to the relatives of the deceased cash.
