Entrepreneurs and producers of the border strip of the state of Michoacán and the state of Jalisco, They asked the authorities of the three levels of government to reinforce security in the Zamora region and the rest of the entity. They denounced that criminals have gone from phone calls to face-to-face attacks, which creates a hostile and intimidating social climate.
They stated that each day and with greater frequency, the most important productive sectors in the region son victims before the increase in highway blockades, vehicle fires, armed robbery of cargo trucks and face-to-face extortion, among other crimes.
The business and productive sector recalled that the economic importance of the Zamora region is recognized for its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product of the state itself and the country. But, they added, “it is a productive job that every time, day by day, sails against the current of insecurity.”
They emphasized that the closure of highways blocks the flow of products and slows down productive activities. “And worse yet, it spoils the harvests of berries and other food that does not reach household pantries where they are consumed and reduce the ability to continue cultivating the field”, they point out in their letter.
Entrepreneurs and producers said that all productive sectors have been affected, including agribusiness, commerce and tourism.

They pointed out that society lives and works in anguish due to the atmosphere of daily violence, without restriction of time or place. In this sense, they urged the authorities of the three levels of government to continue reinforcing security actions to address this important matter.
They also thank the security authorities for the support received and reiterate their willingness to continue coordinating the tasks necessary to achieve social peace and their intention to continue working to stop the situation of violence and achieve the welfare of Zamora and its region.
