The ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza is maintained
Israel’s bombing has killed 44 Palestinians in three days, including 15 children.
At first, as soon as the ceasefire came into force, it was broken by Israel.
The Israeli Israeli army struck Gaza within ten minutes, arguing that they echoed an earlier salvo. Palestinian Islamic Jihad also fired rockets in response.
Residents of the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip welcomed the agreement reached through Egyptian mediation. It comes after almost three days of violence that has killed dozens of Palestinians and destroyed numerous buildings.
Israel takes nothing for granted and its defense minister has issued instructions for the country’s forces to be prepared to react to any breach of the truce.
The UN Security Council will hold a closed-door emergency meeting on Monday to discuss Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip.
