Frenkie de Jong contributed to a large practice win for FC Barcelona with a goal on Sunday. The Orange international made the last goal in the 6-0 win against the Mexican Pumas UNAM in the battle for the Trofeu Joan Gamper.
The 25-year-old De Jong scored six minutes before the end for Barcelona. The midfielder captured the ball himself, walked into the box and hit the right corner.
For De Jong, who has recently been linked with a transfer to Manchester United, it was his first goal for Barcelona since February 24. Then he scored in the eighth finals of the Champions League against Napoli.
De Jong came into the field at Barcelona after the break. Memphis Depay took the place of Robert Lewandowski after an hour of play. The Polish striker, who came over from Bayern Munich this summer, opened the score after three minutes and made his first goal for Barcelona.
Within twenty minutes, the Catalans then ran to 4-0 via two goals from Pedri and a goal from Ousmane Dembélé. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang further expanded the margin shortly after the break.
