It is the first time that the OPEN-International Meeting of Emerging Graphics, from Bilbao, Spain, is internationalized and Buenos Aires is the first Latin American city to host it. This event was born nine years ago as part of FIG Bilbao, the International Festival of Engraving and Art on Paper, which constitutes a consolidated project that emerged nine years ago with the firm purpose of promoting, supporting and disseminating contemporary prints.
The project culturally brings together cities and artists, curators and graphic references from Bilbao in Spain and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event, open and free to the general public, is organized by the ́Ace Foundation and the Arthazi/FIG Bilbao association of Spain, and has the support of Patronage as well as Banco Macro, CCEBA, the Embassy of Spain in Argentina, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain, as well as the institutional accompaniment by the Ministry of Culture, so that its first edition in the City is in the House of Culture.
The agenda of the event, which runs from this Friday to Sunday the 7th, includes exhibitions of works by sixteen emerging Argentine artists -who were winners of an open federal call-, mentorships by guest curators, demonstrations related to graphics, review of portfolios, networking sessions and a round table on contemporary graphics.

At 4:00 p.m., Infinite Patterns Demo-workshop, by Open BA artists Mariana Gayoso, María Romero Alvés and Ale Giorgga.
This workshop allows you to approach the notions of contemporary art through graphic experimentation. Based on the superposition of various materials, textures and graphic qualities, the idea is to be able to recognize the importance of repetition and fragmentation, to know and internalize what a pattern or pattern and how it is created graphically and continuously (notion of rapportstamp, impression and stamp).
