Inflation negatively impacted the sale of new cars in Mexico, as well as in the United States and Europe. Until now, manufacturers have protected their profit margins by raising prices, but the scarcity may hinder sales.
In the United States, vehicle trade in July decreased 5.7%the equivalent of two thousand units less than a month earlier, according to estimates by JD Power and LMC Automotive.
In Mexico, 83,137 new cars were sold in July, a decrease of 8% or 7,231 units compared to the previous month, according to Inegi.
