The increase in energy prices at a global level had an impact on the finances of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
According to the operating and financial results of the state oil company at the end of the second quarter of the year, its total sales increased 88.6% compared to the same period last year.
The oil company generated revenues of 655 thousand 326 million pesos, unlike the 347 thousand 436 million it obtained in the period from April to June 2021. This increase was due to an increase of 89.2% in national sales and 88.5 % in sales of export hydrocarbons.
“The most important variables that explain this situation are the increase in prices worldwide and, to a lesser extent, the volumes sold,” adds the report sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange.
In the case of the increase in foreign sales, the main factor was the price of the Mexican export mix.
