This Friday morning, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, signed a decree to guarantee the supply of water and resolve in depth the problem of scarcity in Nuevo Léon.
“It is a plan to reinforce the actions of the federal government in Nuevo León due to the need for water supply. We have been supporting, we have been working in coordination with the state government, with the municipal governments“.
During the “morning”, López Obrador promised that before the end of this government there will be a supply of water for 8-10 years from now, since he recognized that despite the fact that it has begun to rain and actions have been taken, the problem will take more time.
“Actions have already been taken, I would say that progress has been made, but there is still a shortage of water and it will take longer, even though it has already started to rain, it will still take time and it is affecting the poor population more, those who They don’t have water lines, they don’t have infrastructure and you have to carry water in tankers. So we’re going to strengthen support, and some additional measures are going to be taken, and I’m going to sign a decree for that purpose,” he said.
at the National Palace, The Mexican president pointed out that this decree seeks to resolve the problem in depth, in the medium and long term, and to reinforce actions immediately.
“We promise that before the end of this government there will be a supply of water for 8-10 years from now, starting now with this reinforcement plan,” he said.
López Obrador stressed that the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) has applied the DN-III Plan in this entity in the face of this problem and has carried water pipes and bombed clouds to generate rain.
