Not all the measures available to the authorities can prevent an act as atrocious as the murder of Luz Raquel Padilla from being committed, said the governor of Jalisco when questioned on the subject during the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who This Friday it was held in Puerto Vallarta.
The head of the state Executive Power denied omissions by the authorities in the case and said that the Zapopan police provided permanent accompaniment since the protection order was issued.
“We have an environment and social circumstance that would force us all to reflect, we are talking about an act of brutal violence”
“We have an environment and social circumstance that would force us all to reflect, we are talking about an act of brutal violence; not all the measures that the government may have at any level are sufficient when there is the determination to commit such a heinous act. I think we have to exhaust the investigation, help the family and find those responsible and of course reflect as a society because it seems to me that it would be a mistaken conclusion simply to think that this is a problem of action by the authority; it is a problem that shows a brutal social decomposition and it is necessary to do an exercise of reflection in this sense”, he argued.
He added that the subject detained in the case is against whom the protection order was issued, but so far there is no certainty that he participated in the attack on Luz Raquel. He commented that they work with federal authorities to review and clarify the application of action protocols. The governor denied that he minimized the fact, reiterated his condemnation and said that they will act firmly to find those responsible.
On the other hand, López Obrador sent a greeting to the journalist Susana Mendoza Carreño, who a few weeks ago was the victim of an attack in Puerto Vallarta. The president highlighted the strength and work of the communicator, stressed that she is recovering and she will be discharged after spending three weeks hospitalized.
