The memes continue to haunt Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller: a week after going viral due to the knock on the window of the Washington hotel, the writer returned to the media eye after recommending books as weapons against crime.
This was expressed in a meeting, dated 2021, affirming that the delivery of books to people who “do mischief” could generate a truce and, eventually, curb the rates of violence in Mexico: “No reader is an aggressor,” said the academic.
However, and as usual, users on social networks did not miss the moment to share their best jokes and memes in order to ironize Gutiérrez Müller’s proposal – which, from this perspective, would not be useful on a day-to-day basis. .
“Assailant: it’s enough v * rga, loosen everything you bring!
Me: carnal, take a book, don’t hurt me, take a book!
*he shoots me for p*ndejo”, was one of the many jokes shared in Twitter – where the aforementioned clip went viral.

On the other hand, there were Internet users who pretended to “go with the flow” of the president’s wife, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), by asking her questions about it; for her position, preserving the humorous and sarcastic tone.
“Do I give the book to the assailant before he shoots me or after?”, “I am going to visit a patient at the IMSS, what kind of book should I take in case an assailant leaves me?, “The I give the book before or after the cell phone and my wallet?”, “If it is in public transport, is it a book per event or each passenger must give a book?”, raised the twitteros on the platform.
There were even people who evoked the titles of controversial copies or authors to mock Müller’s recommendation, such as celebrities; controversial topics or Andrés Manuel himself.
“Perhaps the mugger prefers the cowboy book”, “My grandfather killed a mugger with the cowboy book”. Twilight Sunrise”, “If I give him one by Yordi Rosado, does it work too?”, “If the assailant is a child, do we give him a book by Cri-Cri or one by AMLO?”, “I have this book (Marquis de Sade, Juliette or the prosperity of vice). I will give it to you to promote values and a better world,” they wrote.

Of course, there were also users who contradicted Gutiérrez Müller, exemplifying that controversial figures in history and politics (such as Hitler, Vladimir Putin, Bin Laden or Kim Jong-un) – including the Mexican – would have followed said advice, crossing it out like this ridiculous and incongruous.
“So Juan José Arreola, Marlon Brando and Pablo Neruda were not rapists; Goebbels and Hitler were not criminals and Ricardo Valero does not steal BOOKS?”, questioned an Internet user.

Criticism was joined by the journalist, Denise Dresser, who pointed out Beatriz’s proposal as “beautiful but wrong.”
Meanwhile, he criticized López Obrador, as he assured that the president, despite being a reader, has made his morning conferences spaces of aggression against journalists, politicians and any figure critical of his administration.
“The president is a reader and in the morning he has attacked doctors, feminists, environmental/human rights defenders, journalists, activists, scientists, etc.”, he wrote on his account. Twitter.
