Game of Thrones star and Emmy-winning actor Peter Dinklage has been cast in the Hunger Games prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023). Dinklage will play Casca Highbottom, the dean of the Academy.
The film follows Coriolanus Snow at age 18, years before he would become the tyrannical president of Panem. Young Coriolanus is handsome and charming, and while the Snow family is struggling, he sees an opportunity for change in his fortune when he is chosen to mentor the Tenth Hunger Games. Only his elation is shattered when he is assigned to mentor the girl tributes from impoverished District 12.
In addition to Dinklage, the lead roles are played by Euphoria star Hunter Schafer, West Side Story star Rachel Zegler, Billy star Tom Blyth. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Michael Arndt and Michael Lesslie. The film is based on the book by Suzanne Collins.
