The evolution in heat wave remains “to follow”, specifies Météo France. “A heat wave is a period of intense and lasting heat, day and night, over a prolonged period (generally more than 3 days)”, explains the agency on its websitenoting that “it corresponds to the orange level of meteorological vigilance”.
“If the heat wave is acquired across the country, the intensity and especially the geographical extension are undecided”, warned Gaëtan Heymesforecasting engineer at Météo France. It calls for taking with caution “extreme models” shared by some commentators, related to uncertainties.
