By stating that there is a healthy and strong public treasury, the President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He assured that so far his government has fulfilled its commitment not to increase or create taxes, in addition to the end of tax evasion and tax forgiveness.
In press conference “morning” and when commemorating the 25 years of the Tax Administration Service (SAT), López Obrador affirmed that thanks to these policies there is no need to resort to debt and there has not been a deficit problem.
“Today we are going to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Tax Administration Service, it is the institution that ensures that all citizens contribute to the development of the country, it is the one in charge of collecting and strengthening public finances so that there are sufficient funds and finance the country’s development.
“I want to highlight, first, that the commitment not to increase taxes has been fulfilled since we arrived, no tax increase. This did not happen before, and at the same time no new ones have been created. I also want to let the people of Mexico know that the practice of tax evasion and, above all, the remission of taxes was ended, to the high personalities of companies, banks, to the potentates, who do not pay taxes, there is no longer any forgiveness of taxes; The third thing is that thanks to those policies, we have a healthy public treasurystrong. We have not had to resort to debt, we have not had a deficit problem in terms of spending more than income. And this has a lot to do with the work of exemplary public servants, like the director of the SAT, Raquel Buenrostro,” she said.
At the National Palace, the head of the federal Executive stated that Raquel Buenrostro’s team has been key to having healthy finances.
He stressed that Thanks to this, great works have been financed, such as the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), the Dos Bocas refinery and the Mayan Train.
“This team has been key because, despite Russia’s war against Ukraine, we have healthy finances. We have a budget to finance welfare programs, benefit the people, and do the infrastructure works that are being built,” he said.
