Cairo, July 3. The Al Sadd club, the current winner of the Qatari Football League, announced this Sunday the renewal of midfielders Santi Cazorla and Rodrigo Tabata for one more season.
“Santi Cazorla has signed a one-year contract renewal with Al Sadd until 2023,” the entity said on its official Twitter account, which also stated that Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Tabata is renewing for another season.
The Spanish international Santi Cazorla has been one of the key pieces for the club to revalidate the title of the Qatari soccer league this year.
Cazorla and Tabata will be in the following season under the baton of the Spaniard Juanma Lillo, who said goodbye to Manchester City last month, where he worked as Pep Guardiola’s second coach, to lead Al Sadd.
Al Sadd won all the games of the last league campaign except for one that they tied against Al-Duhail (3-3) at the beginning of November, even with Xavi on the bench, who led this club until his signing for Barcelona.
It is the team that has scored the most goals (71) and the one that has conceded the least (20) in the eighteen games played. EFE
