Sabotage Studio has announced that it is postponing Sea of Stars to next year.
“As we approach a major milestone in the development of our game, the road to launch is getting clearer, and we’re seeing a lot of text and logos across the bottom,” Sabotage said in a statement. “We are remembering our priorities – quality of life for our team and quality of our game – which is why we have to announce that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023.”
“We understand that waiting longer is a big question, and we want to thank the community for the support and positive response,” Sabotage continued. “In the meantime, we’re looking at ways to get a playable piece of the game into your hands.”

Sea of Stars is a prequel to Sabotage’s popular 2018 game, The Messenger. Sea of Stars will enter a completely different genre as a turn-based RPG instead of the sidescrolling beat ’em up that is The Messenger.
Sea of Stars was first announced in 2020 and was then given a 2022 release window in a Nintendo Direct. Players will now have to wait a little longer for it to come out.
The game will be released for Nintendo Switch and PC. The game may be coming to other platforms as well.
