Shawn Levy and Josh Barry’s production company, called 21 laps, and Netflix are going to make a supernatural time travel series. As part of the production company’s overall deal with the streamer, the two have chosen The Moon Represents My Heart, Pim Wangtechawat’s forthcoming debut novel, in a competitive situation and will develop the project as a miniseries. In addition to Levy and Barry, Gemma Chan is also an executive producer.
Family with time travel powers
The Moon Represents My Heart follows a British-Chinese family with the secret ability to travel in time. After the parents disappear, their son and daughter search for them over time as they mature themselves. The book will be published next spring. In 21 Laps, Emily Morris, who brought the book to Netflix, will be overseeing the project for the producers along with manager Moera Ainai.
From the same maker as The Adam Project
There is no release date for the new miniseries yet. An official title has not yet been announced, but it may be called the same as the book. Levy previously directed Free Guy (2021), now on Disney+, and The Adam Project (2022) starring Ryan Reynolds, a Netflix Original.
