Ten Dutchmen will start in Copenhagen on Friday in the Tour de France. That is four less than last year, but there are plenty of compatriots to keep an eye on. NU.nl lists all Dutch people in the Tour de France of 2022.
1. Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo-Visma†
Jumbo-Visma is one of two Dutch teams in the peloton, but the yellow-black formation has only selected one Dutchman. Kruijswijk, the number three of the Tour of 2019, has a role as a servant for the leaders Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard.

2. Nils Eekhoff (DSM Team)
At 24 years old, Eekhoff is the youngest Dutch participant in the Tour. His team is aiming for daily success with sprinters Alberto Dainese and John Degenkolb, but Eekhoff might also be able to go for his own chance in more difficult arrivals.

4. Dylan Groenewegen (BikeExchange-Jayco)
Groenewegen is perhaps the biggest contender for Dutch daytime success. The Amsterdammer has switched from Jumbo-Visma to the Australian BikeExchange-Jayco so that he can ride the Tour again. He has already won four stages in the past, including the final stage on the Champs-Élysées in 2017.

5. Fabio Jakobsen (Quick Step Alpha Vinyl Team)
It is precisely Jakobsen who is one of the riders who can keep Groenewegen from new success. Almost two years after the fall in Poland, the two can meet again in the sprint. Jakobsen says he is vigilant, but there is no misunderstanding about his goal: to win stages.
Age: 25
Type: sprinter
Number of Tour starts: 0
6. Danny van Poppel (BORA-hansgrohe)
Van Poppel is the sprinter on duty at BORA-hansgrohe. The born Utrechter has moved up a spot in the pecking order due to the absence of Sam Bennett, two years ago winner of two stages and the green jersey.

7. Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck)
Van der Poel will hope for a Tour de France like last year, when he won the second stage on the Mûr-de-Bretagne and rode in the yellow jersey for six days. In the previous edition he left with a view to the Olympic Games, but this year reaching Paris – in addition to achieving stage victories – will be the goal.
Age: 27
Type: all-rounder
Number of Tour starts: 1
8. Dylan van Baarle (INEOS Grenadiers)
Van Baarle won Paris-Roubaix in a beautiful way in the spring and has already had his moment in the spotlight in France. In the Tour he will have to put himself fully in service of former winner Geraint Thomas, Adam Yates and Daniel Felipe Martínez.

Type: all-rounder

9. Taco van der Hoorn (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux)
Van der Hoorn makes his debut in the Tour de France, but that doesn’t stop him from dreaming about daytime success. Last year he rode a Grand Tour for the first time in the Giro d’Italia and immediately showed his qualities by winning the third stage from the flight.
Age: 28
Type: all-rounder

10. Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo)
