According to reports, Newbrew beer was launched for sale on April 8 and is part of the Singapore government’s efforts to promote the importance of water recycling and raise awareness among its citizens.
Manufacturers claim that the beer contains recycled water that complies with international safety standards and it is also clean enough to be used for the production of beverages for human consumption; as clean water is required in the manufacturing process so as not to contaminate the flavor of the malt, hops and yeast strains required in the brewing process.
It has been reported that beer it will be available until the end of June, in stores, restaurants and online; and its price ranges from 4.50 dollars per can.
The water used is disinfected with ultraviolet light and passed through advanced membranes to remove the contaminants it contains.
