According to Christian Bale, there were some scenes from Gorr the God Butcher that were just a bit too extreme for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Gorr’s design has been the subject of discussion for some time. Its design is also quite unique. He’s full of scars, which Bale says are a big part of Gorr’s background.
Small Spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder
“He’s a very religious character in the beginning with tattoos that show his piety. He gets disillusioned by that. He literally mutilates himself to get rid of that,” Bale explained in an interview with our American colleagues.
It looks like the scene where Gorr cuts his tattoos from his body was actually shot. In the end, the fierceness of this will not be too bad. In the end, they remain family-friendly superhero films, even if the MCU dares to look for the somewhat darker sides in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
“Maybe it was a little too extreme to keep in the movie, but a lot of wonderful things were created. As an actor, you already know that in advance. You always know you’re going to experiment. Some things can work and some can’t. We do want this to be a family movie,” Bale said.
Who knows, we may still see the scene when the film comes out on July 6.
