In July of last year, the first vehicle verification cycle began in Jalisco after the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, so far only four out of every 10 cars that were scheduled have been verifiedreported the Secretary of Environment and Territorial Development, Sergio Graf.
He noted that, from July of last year to the current date, only 290 thousand have come to do their verification. The goal of the first year of application of the program was to verify 24% of the vehicle registry, which represents 808 thousand 591 units.
The register of verifiable cars was set at three million 369 thousand 130.
The secretary recalled that, although the application of fines for not verifying until January of the following year was suspended, the program is still mandatoryfor which he asked the population to go check and avoid saturation in August.
“The test cycle was one year, of awareness and to go to verify, we are going to reach 400,000 verifications in this cycle, but the new cycle that begins in August, they have to go to verify because once we reach January they will to be infringed. So why wait and crash things? Because everyone will want in the end“, said.
remembered that in January plates ending 7, 8, 9 and 0 will be inspected.
Yesterday, this medium published that after the announcement of the suspension of fines, the verifications decreased. The secretary confirmed that there are already fewer appointments, because, he said, people trust that they will not be fined.
“Yes, they will be fined as soon as we have the conditions,” he assured. These include the completion of at least 80 verification lines for the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and at least two in medium-sized cities, such as Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno, Ocotlán and Ciudad Guzmán, by December 31. There are currently 58 lines.
The original plan was that the new verification scheme would have 100 review lines throughout the State in its first stage and it was projected that it would be expanded to reach up to 280 lines.
