The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) called not to fail primary and secondary school students in the 2021-2022 school year, due to the learning complications that could result after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) Agreement 11/06/22 was published on June 28, which regulates specific and extraordinary actions for the closure of the 2021-2022 school year and the beginning of 2022-2023.
It details that for the second consecutive year the students of the aforementioned school levels may not receive a grade lower than six. Likewise, teachers will take into account the learning achievements considering the levels of communication and participation in the activities.
During the evaluation period, parents and guardians will be allowed to support the demonstration of the activities carried out by the minors, as part of the accompaniment to obtain the qualification.

“In all cases in which a numerical grade is entered on the evaluation form of primary and secondary education students, the grade that must be recorded may not be less than six,” the document indicates.
The purpose is to guarantee that the students pass to the next educational level, for this reason the implementation of regularization processes and general evaluation of knowledge will also be allowed.
“The educational authorities of the 32 entities of the country, teachers, mothers and fathers or guardians, and other members of the system, are urged to facilitate the reintegration of students into the educational service and to create conditions to prevent and address school dropout ”.
It also underlines that teachers in front of a group or subject holders must consider some elements for the evaluation of learning based on the current study plan and program, such as: the performance of students in evaluation periods; the results of the diagnostic assessments, and the completion of academic work and activities that demonstrate the knowledge acquired.

“The assessment of the knowledge and skills with which the students begin the 2022-2023 school year and the priority learning care plan will be applied to all students without exception, giving priority to those with communication and communication levels. intermittent participation and virtually non-existent communication in the 2021-2022 school year.”
In the case of preschool students, since grades are not recorded on the report card, only ‘comments and suggestions on learning progress’ in the corresponding section of the evaluation sheet if the teacher has sufficient elements of communication with the students.
To guarantee the continuity of the students’ studies in the 2022-2023 school year, registration and re-registration at the corresponding level, regardless of whether it is face-to-face or online, will be done immediately, so there will be an exchange of information between the school control areas of the local educational authorities.
According to the schedule of dates that governs the SEP, the end of courses will be next Thursday, July 28. In this way, minors will be able to enjoy their vacation period from Friday, July 29.
