Groom accidentally shoots guest at wedding party

The victim, a soldier who had been given leave to attend the wedding party of his friend Manish Madeshiya, is said to have made the weapon available to the groom himself to increase the festivity in the air.

Video footage would show the groom lowering his arm as the gun went off – apparently accidentally. The soldier Babulal Yadav was fatally wounded. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injury en route.

The groom has been arrested, United News of India reports, and the weapon has been taken away for examination.
