Itei: Despite criticism of the call, 23 candidates seek the presidency of the organization

With the registration of 23 candidates, in the Congress of Jalisco, the registration for the presidency of the Institute of Transparency, Public Information and Protection of Personal Data of the State (Itei) concluded.

Among those listed, there are ten who participated in the first processwhich was declared void because only one of the 18 candidates passed the exam.

Due to changes in the evaluation criteria, the Itei Advisory Council declined to participate in the process, it is their responsibility to prepare and apply the exam. Deputy Leticia Pérez García, president of the Citizen Participation and Transparency Commission, commented that they hope they will change their position and appear next Monday to deliver the files of those registered and continue with the process.

“It is a pleasant surprise that there are more applicants than the previous time. We are willing that the Consultative Council wants to participate, for us it is important that they participate to give more confidence to the citizens of this new call, we extended a letter to them so that they can present themselves on Monday, ”he said.

The legislator said that if the Council does not reconsider, they will do what the law establishes so that Congress continues with the process.

They made official their intention to be part of the second process applicants such as Natalia Mendoza Servin, who was the only one to pass the exam in the first call. Also Aislinn Lizeth Ramos Rubio, pointed out by the deputy Mara Robles Villaseñor, as the candidate that a parliamentary coordinator seeks to favor and for which the evaluation stage would have been modified.

To continue with the process, the evaluation will be carried out on July 5 and the election of the new Itei president and an alternate will be voted on in the plenary session of the state Congress no later than July 22. Whoever is appointed will hold the position for a period of five years.
