César Ivan “N”, cousin of “El Chueco”, alleged murderer of the two Jesuit priests Javier Campos and Joaquín Mora, was arrested by elements of the Public Security Secretariat of Chihuahua.
In a statement, the state security agency reported that in coordination with the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) and the National Guard, They captured two subjects in the municipality of Urique, who were traveling in a vehicle in possession of two long weapons, a short weapon and drugs.
The security personnel participated in the search operation for those responsible for the homicide, when in a dirt gap they ran into a truck manned by two subjects, who tried to escape when they noticed the presence of the uniformed men.
“Hugs are not enough for so many bullets”
Jesuit Father Javier Ávila, who is a companion and friend of the two murdered priests, pointed out that the federal government’s policy is useless because “hugs are not enough for so many bullets” and it does not give Mexicans peace of mind. “Hugs are exceeded, so they are useless. I have never practiced or followed that policy, I am going another way to achieve peace, that is not the way to achieve it, ”he assured.
The clergyman stressed that his companions Javier and Joaquín, from the parish of San Francisco Javier in Cerocahui, had not been threatened by organized crime groups operating in the region, for which he considered that the attack did not go directly against both priests.. “In this case they were not specifically against the priests, which is what is strange because there was nothing to claim or point out to them. It does not follow that the lawsuit was against them or against the church. That impunity ends is the most important thing, that it really act effectively and that the person responsible appears”, he asked.
Ávila described his companions as very good shepherds, “simple people, with a lot of faith, a lot of work, and very close to the people.”
