Synchronized swimming with a twin sister seems to work. At the World Championships in Budapest, the stage of the free exercise for duets consisted entirely of twins. The Dutchmen Bregje de Brouwer and Marloes Steenbeek finished eighth.
De Brouwer, who normally forms a duo with her now injured twin sister Noortje, scored 87,466 with Steenbeek. That was slightly higher than the 86.800 of the preliminary round, which also put them in eighth place. They also finished eighth in the final of the technical exercise.
