The announcement of investments by 724 million dollars (MDD) that will generate some 11,600 direct jobs in the electronics and technology sector, was the main achievement presumed by state officials and businessmen who participated in the recent tour of California.
Xavier Orendáin De Obeso, state coordinator of economic development, informed that the investments would be made this year; raised the need to promote the training of talent and specialized professionals in these areas due to the high demand in the sector.
“Our expectation is that the bulk of these investments materialize in 2022 and maximum in the first half of 2023. We are convinced that we must return next year,” he said.
The investments made were with the company Jabil with 400 million dollars and the expectation of offering 6 thousand new jobs. Intel committed 8 million dollars for its semiconductor area with the requirement of 200 highly paid and specialized jobs. The company Sanmina projected 216 million dollars and 2 thousand jobs and the company Flex one hundred million dollars and 3 thousand jobs.
It was also reported that firms such as HP, Bosch, Oracle and C3AI; confirmed plans to increase their workforce.
Robert Arechederra Pachecoowner of the Secretariat of Economic Developmentreported that they are working so that in the remainder of the administration they can lay the foundations for growth and generation of jobs in the State.
For its part, Alfonso Pompa Padillasecretary of Innovation, Science and Technologyhighlighted the visits to the innovation and development campus as part of the actions to bet on the future of digital technologies and the knowledge economy.
“It is a great opportunity that we have to take advantage of and develop top-level talent to ensure the growth of these companies,” he said.
They added that the collaboration with Google which will provide an initial diagnosis for teachers throughout the State, a training and support program for 10,000 teachers and scholarships for certification as Educator Level 1 for teachers who demonstrate their interest in using the company’s ecosystem. In addition, the possibility of promoting a connectivity project between the company and the Jalisco Network is open.
