The construction of Line 4 (L4) of the Train will contribute to guaranteeing the human right to mobility and a better environment for the inhabitants of the southern part of the city, said Gerardo Quirino Velázquez Chávez, coordinator of the Movimiento Ciudadano caucus in the Congress of Jalisco. The legislator stressed that Tlajomulco is the municipality that has grown the most in population in the last three decades, but had not developed more infrastructure for public transportation.
“The State Congress contributed to these issues and in the particular case of a server as deputy of the 12th district. It is an enormous benefit, the people of Tlajomulco have been fighting for this human right to mobility for a long time”, said.
Velázquez Chávez recalled that the L4 project includes the reorganization of transport in the south of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, which will impact more than 300,000 inhabitants of the area with the reduction of transfer times and will facilitate access to the University Center of Tlajomulco. “The impact is positive because citizens will be given the opportunity to take advantage of the time they spend today on public transport, since a person who lives in that area can spend two or three hours on the move and with the decrease it will be time that they will be able to dedicate to be with their family, with their community or at home, and that implies generating the human right to mobility”, he added.
The deputy added that after the publication of the decrees in the Official Newspaper, what follows is to launch the national public tender to receive proposals from companies that aspire to carry out the work.
