SEATTLE (AP) — Elvis Andrus tied the score with a homer in the sixth inning, singled and scored in the seventh, and the Oakland Athletics snapped a 13-game losing streak against the Mariners on Tuesday with a 7-5 victory over Seattle.
Tony Kemp had three hits for the A’s and Jed Lowrie also homered.
With the game tied at 5-5 in the seventh, Andrus’ single off Anthony Misiewicz (0-1) was deflected by left fielder Jesse Winker. The error allowed Sean Murphy to score the go-ahead run. Luis Barrera then drove in Andrus with a double that put the final 7-5 on the scoreboard.
Sam Moll (2-0) claimed the win with a 1 1/3 inning for the A’s, who snapped a three-game losing streak. The stumble went to Misiewicz’s record after a two-hit, two-run inning.
Dominican Dany Jiménez achieved his ninth save of the season.
For the Athletics, Venezuelan Elvis Andrus 4-2, with two runs scored and one produced. The Dominicans Luis Barrera 4-2, with an RBI; Cristian Pache 4-1.
For the Mariners, the Dominican Julio Rodríguez 5-1, with a run scored and two RBIs. The Venezuelan Eugenio Suarez 4-0.
