A truck carrying Central American migrants overturned on a lost road in the municipality of San Juan Chamula, in the state of Chiapas; two of them lost their lives and more than twenty were injured.
Local authorities explained that the truck driver, a man of Tzotzil origin, he lost control of the unit when driving down a slope, and plunged into a ravine where the foreigners from Guatemala and Honduras were projected to different sides, to fall on the rocks and earth.
An official said the cause of the accident is unknown.

The mishap occurred at the height of the Yaal Chitóm community, a town that is located about eight kilometers from the municipal seat of San Juan Chamula that connects with the community of Cacaté, municipality of Ixtapa, which is used by human traffickers to circumvent police and INM posts on the Pan-American highway and the San Cristóbal-Chiapa highway.
Police bodies, relief groups and experts from the Prosecutor’s Office go to Yaal Chitóm to work at the accident site and transfer the bodies of the deceased foreigners to the coroner.
